Birthday card for a vet.

We had a great dry day today, got lots of my pots cleared out in the garden and a few planted up.  I got the most beautiful Dianthus, a sort of deep pink with pretty white edges, so it's now sitting pride of place at our back door :)

This card was a special request for a student vet who loves cows and doesn't like horses!  I used these farm animals from MFT and chalked the sky and added a few splatters for good measure.  I hadn't intended to add the red enamel dots but I had an oops that needed covering ;)
My 21 is die cut with silver card.

Couple of sympathy cards

Whoohoo a nice long weekend for me!  We'd pc problems in work these past couple of days so I treated myself to today off, good timing with the Bank Holiday on Monday :)
I was in 'cleaning mode' today, and torpedoed through the house, so I'm nice and tidy and ready for visitors.  But sure you only get visitors when the house is a tip ;)

I've been making a couple of sympathy cards for my stash.

This first one uses my new favourite bouquet from Prima.  I really must sit down and have a proper play with the colouring as this was a bit of a rush.

This second one was inspired by this oooold DP, and my pretty flowers from Power Poppy.

SC642 Gwen and her kitties

So here's the sketch for this week's challenge over at Splitcoaststampers - if you'd like to play along, please link your card here.
Though I've just noticed I completely forgot about panel #7, oops!

For my card I've used Gwen and her Kitties from Eat Cake Graphics.  Coloured with watercolour pencils, and that's about all I need to tell you!  Nice and easy!  My lovely DPs were a bargain a few months ago from The Range (in Ballymena)

Wedding birdies

Oh BRRRR it's been such a cold few days!  We've had an Arctic blast from the North Pole with wind and light snow flurries!  You wouldn't think it was Spring not that long back!  At least it's not meant to last, so hopefully the weather will smarten up for the Bank Holiday.

I've made a quickie wedding card as a special request for a work colleague.  I had originally stamped my letters in black, but it was a bit 'in your face' so I tried again in grey ink and like it a bit better.  I hadn't intended to have so many of those little hearts, but after stamping all those letters I had VERY inky fingers ;)  The card I used for my backing and the heart border has a lovely sparkle in it, but of course doesn't show up well here!

Chocolate in her handbag

Do you ever have chocolate in your handbag?  Nah, me neither, it never gets to last that long ;)  I love it all, dark, milk doesn't matter!  Even better when it comes with a hot cuppa tea!
(ever tried a Cadbury's Wispa dunked in your tea? yummmm)

These cuties are from Eat Cake Graphics:
Eloise with her handbag
Daisy Mouse
In her handbag
Firefly

Coloured with watercolour pencils.  Sparkle added to their hats.  Clear gloss to the handbag, hat ribbons and bugs wings.

This card is also posted over at A Sprinkling of Samples and Techniques blog, where you'll find lots more loveliness from Eat Cake Graphics

Down in the park

This little guy looks like he's out for a fun day in the park - he's one of my favourites from Eat Cake Graphics:
Webster's tilting his head
(My absolute favourite puppy is featured at the end of this post!)

I've had another go with my brushos and I love how this one turned out :)  I brushoed the BG, then stamped a Row of Pine Trees and coloured with watercolour pencils.  Webster is popped up on dimensionals, and then I added a few enamel dots to finish.

Here's a wee pic of Rubydoo in our local park - she ALWAYS stops at the same spot to peer over the wall :). Daftie.

A flying mouse

Here's the new sketch over at Splitcoaststampers.
If you'd like to play along, please link your card here.

I flipped the sketch for my layout ... I had originally intended to have the little mouse flying over a grassy hill, but I had these blue scraps lying on my desk so they got used!
My mouse is an olide from High Hopes - coloured with watercolour pencils, popped up on dimensionals, and clear gloss added to the balloon.
City scape die from Memory Box and red stars from stash.

Blue sympathy

Ah boo hoo, back to work tomorrow - but at least everyone else will have been off work too so there shouldn't be a gazillion emails to get through!  I'd a busy day today, out powerhosing the front driveway and tidying up, I was totally frozen by the time I was finished!    Anyway, one hot bath and a bit of crafty time later, here's a wee sympathy card for my stash.

I've used this old stamp from Whipper Snapper - coloured with watercolour pencils and popped up on dimensionals.  I sprayed my BG with water and tapped on some blue brushos.  Clear bling from stash.

Easter's over ...

Well that's Easter over for another year, so what else would be next on my list but Christmas cards? hahaha  I'm still determined not to have the usual last minute rush, but then I say that every year and it's yet to happen ;)

My first card uses this oldie from Penny Black and the lovely sentiment from Happy Little Stampers.  Not sure what colour my stars look here, but they're gold in real life ;)  I love the simplicity of this one, might make a few more as they're nice and quick.

I've a load of cream card in my stash so thought I'd use a bit up, though I think I prefer white cardstock so dear knows when the rest will get used ;)
I found this shiny silver/cream DP in my stash, and added a strip of embossed silver card.  Images from MFT - coloured with watercolour pencils and sparkle added to the antlers, red star and Santa's hat.  Silver stars from stash.

More Easter Bunnies

We're half way through April already, so it's reminder time over at Naughty or Nice.  Our theme this month is 3 of something, with an option of an Easter twist.

This card is one of those that looks so much nicer in real life!  I've used some of these bunnies from a Simon Says Stamp set.  I diecut my little bunny and then popped him up on dimensionals, and covered them all with my clear glitter pen.  Clear gloss and glitter added to the 'Daddy' bunny's tie.  My bow is a tad big, but it was from my recycled stash and it was the right colour ;)

Easter Bunnies

Here's some happy hoppy bunnies :)  These critters always make me smile:
Brewster Bunny (foot up) and
Flopsy bunny's got an egg
from Eat Cake Graphics.

Coloured with watercolour pencils and lots of sparkle added to that humongous egg! Clouds chalked in the background and a few pink splatters to finish.  No doodling added for a change ;)
Apologies for such a crappy photo, I hadn't realised it was so glary till I uploaded it.

Get well flowers

Yippee, that's me finished work now for the Easter break till next Wednesday :)  Don't ya love a nice loooong weekend with the prospect of chocolate eggs for breakfast on Sunday ;)

I've been playing with my new Prima stamp again.  Coloured with watercolour pencils and some sparkle added to the blue blooms.
I also got out my embossing folders for a change, I should really use these more often!

SC640 Snowman tag

So here's this week's new sketch over at Splitcoast ... if you'd like to play along please link your card here.

For my card I've used Snowman (assembled) from Eat Cake Graphics and my sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers. I covered my snowman with my clear glitter pen for lots of sparkle and added a few clear gems to the centre of my snowflakes.

I haven't used my eyelets for aaages, and was delighted to find one in the stash that matched my DP perfectly :)

I used an old Paper Smooches die to add my stitched hill, and then promptly covered most of it up with my snowdude.  White enamel accents for falling snow.

Monday 10 April 2017

More Bunnies

As per usual I'm flying close to the wire and still haven't finished my Easter cards!
So here's a wee quickie using Flopsy bunny from Eat Cake Graphics.
Coloured with watercolour pencils and 3 different purples used for my eggs (and the background splattered with purple too).  Clear gloss and glitter added to the eggs for lots of sparkle.

Sunday 9 April 2017

Chocolate cake with Pink Icing

Sunday evening already!  And I gotta be quick here as Line of Duty is on shortly, it's definitely the best programme on telly at the minute.

Stamp from Penny Black, coloured with watercolour pencils.  Clear gloss and glitter added to the icing.  Cear gems from stash.

I miss your face

So here's the new sketch from Splitcoaststampers - if you'd like to play along you can link your card here

My card is for a friend in work who's going to be off sick for a few weeks.  I've used Abundance (MMM butterflies) from Eat Cake Graphics.  Coloured with watercolour pencils, clear gloss added to the butterflies and sparkle to the little flowers.

Though now that I'm uploading this, I've just noticed that I've coloured her legs wrong - I've done the bit between her legs instead! Ah well, maybe if I hadn't told you that you wouldn't have noticed ;)  But it's perfect for Darnell's April Fools Boo Boo Hop :)

Sunday 2 April 2017

Mmmmmm Easter Eggs

Woops, I'm a bit behind myself with my DT card for Naughty or Nice!
Our theme this month is '3 of something' with an optional Easter twist.  If you'd like to play along, please link your card over on the blog, and have a look at what the other naughty girls have made while you're there.

I've used my favourite bunnies from Eat Cake Graphics:
Flopsy Bunny's got an egg
Coloured with watercolour pencils and I used the same ink as the text to colour my eggs and to add some splatters to the BG.  I went over my eggs several times with my clear sparkle pen and then added some clear gloss.

Hope you're having a great weekend.  It's a lovely sunny day here but a chilly wind, great for getting the washing dried, but I'm a bit of a woose and prefer not to have 20 layers on for a bit of gardening ;)
